Baala Baajo offers a fantastic African cultural experience, with vibrant rhythms and lots of student involvement, for a range of age groups, from preschool to high school. A Baala Baajo performance is a fun, lively and interactive culturally diverse musical experience, which assists children to respect and value differences.

Students, teachers and community members have been consulted in the development of Baala Baajo's educational programs. Teachers and early childhood educators receive a set of comprehensive notes with each confirmed performance. These notes include:
• information about Ghana and Ghanaian culture
• art and craft ideas
• recipes
• book and music reference list
A Baala Baajo performance touches on the following areas of the school curriculum:
• Music and dance
• LOTE (Languages other than English)
• SOSE (Studies of Society and Environment) |
Baala Baajo has:
• a valid Working with Children Card (Blue Card) issued by the Commission for Children, Young People and Child Guardian.
• Education Queensland approved accreditation.
• Membership with Ausdance Qld

Workshops and Residencies for schools
Baala Baajo also offers drum and dance workshops and residencies for upper primary and high school students. These experiences give students a more in depth understanding of Ghanaian music, dance and culture and can be tailored to meet your school’s individual needs.

Students studying dance and other creative arts subjects experience authentic and highly engaging world music and dance tutorials conducted by a true professional. Baala Baajo tutorials include:
• Ghanaian dance workshops
• A lecture style presentation complete with video footage of dances performed in Ghana
• Question and answer sessions
